Stephen Chen

Assoc Prof Stephen Chen is a specialist periodontist at Melbourne Periodontal Specialists in Balwyn. He is also Clinical Associate Professor at the Melbourne Dental School at the University of Melbourne. He graduated BDS (Malaya) in 1983, MDSc (Melbourne) in 1987, FRACDS in 1988 (KG Sutherland Prize) and completed his PhD in 2008.  He is past-president of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) and Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS). He is an honorary life member of the AOS and the ITI. For his service to dentistry, dental education and professional groups, Dr Chen was appointed Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2019.
